Prayer Blanket Ministry
Our prayer blankets vary in size but are approximately 18" square. They vary in color and design with each being unique.
Our Prayer Blanket Ministry began in 1999. Our inspiration was a prayer group from Prince of Peace Catholic Church at a time when our pastor was diagnosed with breast cancer and was undergoing surgery and chemo treatments. This group brought a prayer blanket and made a covenant to pray for his healing. It became such a source of faith for us to believe in God’s healing power that we made it a part of the ministry of our church. Since then we have sent hundreds of blankets to many places in the United States and in several foreign countries, including Israel. We have received so many wonderful testimonies of God’s grace and healing from those who have been blessed by our prayer covenant.
These blankets are handmade by members of our church. As part of our regular worship service, our congregation, when a need is known, blesses the individual blanket in the name of the recipient. This is done by the entire congregation standing in our sanctuary center aisle with four or five people holding the blanket by its edges. Then we all either touch the blanket or touch someone else who is touching the blanket. Then we pray for healing and that God's will be done. We know that God still works miracles in the lives of His people and that our prayers are powerful because we have received numerous testimonies about how their circumstances improved once the prayer blanket was blessed.
If you are a recipient of one of our prayer blankets, then we offer it as evidence of our covenant to hold you up in our prayers. We encourage you to hold this blanket or place it upon your body when you pray and know that we are joining our faith with yours in believing God will meet the needs of your life according to His will.
