Services and Programs

Worship Service: Sunday at 9:30 am. Our services are open to all - not just Gause Methodist Church members.  Please come for a visit.  We also stream the services live for your convenience (Go to our YouTube Channel or you may view the live feed at our Streaming Page during the live event).

Special Worship Services: We conduct special worship services throughout the year, such as on Easter and Christmas.

Communion Service: We serve communion on the first Sunday of each month, normally.  Our communion table and sacraments are open and available to all who believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and who desire to participate.  You do not have to be a member of our church, or even be a Methodist to participate.

Sunday School: Every Sunday at 8:40 am.  We start arriving early (8:30 am) and enjoy somw fellowship.  We are currently on a break until August 4th. Our lesson then starts promptly at 8:40 am and concludes at 9:20 am. You DO NOT need a Biblical background to participate.  The whole purpose of Sunday School is to hear the lesson, learn about God and the Bible, discuss it as we go, ask questions, and pose alternatives to the discussion if desired. We have all ranges of knowledge from little to a lot!  Join us.

Kingdom Kids: Our children's Sunday School program meets in the Pastor's Office located in the Fellowship Hall Annex on either Sunday mornings or on Wednesday evenings. We are currently on summer break. If interested, please contact our Volunteer Church Secretary at 979-253-3303 for schedule verification.

Kids Church: After the offering is completed during the Sunday Worship service, the younger children are taken out of the sanctuary (at the parent's option) to the Fellowship Hall for age approprioate religious instruction, games, and snacks. They are returned to the Worship Service on communion Sunday's so they can take communion with their family. On all other Sundays, parents pick up their children in the Fellowship Hall Annex following the Worship Service.

Bible Bunch: A Bible study conducted in the Fellowship Hall Annex from 5:00 to 6:30 pm each Sunday. All are welcome (you do not have to be a member of this church) and no Bible knowledge is required.  This is a facilitated study and we often have lively discussions!  This is where you learn the most about the Bible, so don't be afraid to learn. We have participants from other churches, so this truly is a community event.

School Children Support: We work closely with the Gause Independent School District to ensure all the school children have the necessities for being successful in school. At the request of the school, we are willing to provide needed items such as winter coats, eye glasses, hearing aids, backpacks, etc.

Teacher Appreciation Lunch: Our church provides a luncheon in honor of the teachers and staff of the Gause Independent School District at the beginning of each school year.

Vacation Bible School: Conducted anually during the summer, usually for 3 or 4 evenings where the kids participate in games, snacks, Bible lessons, and other entertaining events.

Adopt-a-Highway:  We participate in this State program as a community outreach project. We clean two miles of highway four times a year - one mile on each side of downtown Gause.  This is a worthwhile event with community work as well as good fellowship.  Volunteers are always needed!

Prayer Blanket Ministry : Through this mission, members create prayer blanket squares that are about 18" square. They are carefully crafted and are much more than just a piece of cloth.  People request the blankets which are then held by church members during a church service with all members hands on the blankets while a prayer is said for the specific individual in need, as well as all our blanket recipients.

Warming Center:  The church has a power generator, so during storms or other power outages, we have power. This means we can keep the Fellowship Hall Annex air conditioned or warmed to allow refuge by people who have lost power or need shelter for a few hours. We offer refuge to anyone who needs it. Light snacks and drinks are available. Watch our FaceBook page for announcements or, if you are in need, contact our Church Secretary at 979-253-3303.

Book Box:  A community free loan book box is located at the front of our Annex (Fellowship Hall) next to the street.  It is stocked with children's books.  Take some and return them when finished or donate some other books!  No charge.

Food Pantry:  One of the ministries of our Kindom Kids is to conduct food drives for food which is used to periodically stock the food pantry box located at the Gause Post Office.  The food is blessed in our worship service prior to it being placed in the pantry.

Community Services: From time to time we open our facility for use by the Milam County Health Department to provide needed shots. We also partner with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Bank to host blood drives.  We make the facility available to other organizations wishing to partner with us to provide needed services to area residents.

Christmas Projects: The church, in concert with the Gause Independent School District and other agencies, adopts families to ensure their children receive gifts and other items so they can experience a happy Christmas. We donate many filled shoeboxes as part of the national shoebox program.

Mission Ministries: We have an active mission ministry where we meet needs on a worldwide basis.  For example, for several years we have bought clothes and school supplies for children in Belize to enable them to attend school. We support the Methodist Children's Home, college student ministries, Call for Help in Hearne, Samaritan's Purse., Milam County Child Protective Services, and many others. We have sent teams into tornado damaged areas to help with clean-up activities.  Where there is a need, we try to find a way to help.
