Vision team produces results...
In the Spring of 2018 the church council established a team of church members to canvas the congregation to determine what the congregation wants the church to achieve over the next several years. This was to be the seed for a Church Strategic Plan. The concept was to find out what the people want, as well as what our District Superintendent and Pastor desire, and then develop the means for it to be achieved.
On June 24, 2018 the team members met. Present were Dan Fischer, Henry Bonorden, Travis Neely, Ruth Hardy, Mike Niklasch, and Pastor Kyle. Absent was Rhonda Cloud.
The findings were discussed and the minutes from the meeting are posted below. This is the first step in establishing a strategic plan for the church. It was to find out what the church wants. Now that has been completed.
Next, the strategic goals will be presented on July 1, 2018 to the Church Council. If approved, then the goals will be assigned to appropriate GUMC committees for evaluation and the development of plans and interim goals to achieve the strategies. This will be brought back to the council for approval and, if approved, will be presented to the entire church as part of our annual Church Conference, normally held in late October or early November. Dates have not yet been announced.
It has been amazing to see the 20+ items brought forward from the congregation! Please be in prayer for the church as it moves forward in the days, weeks, months, and years to come.
